Meeting Highlights & Program

 

November 2010

 

 In lieu of a program on a specific collection, club members brought treasures for a Double Show and Tell!  Here are some highlights from this meeting.  Descriptions of each treasure is found below the pictures using the corresponding number.

 

 

1.
Fostoria topaz Baroque ice bucket.
2.
Anchor Hocking Royal Ruby High Point pitcher and 5 ˝” tumbler.
3.
Two oversized moustache cups and saucers:  one Flow Blue from Staffordshire, England; the other is from Germany and has a painted swallow in the bottom of the cup.
4.
On the right is a Cambridge crystal Rose Point individual footed salt.
On the left is a US Glass crystal Rising Sun spooner with flashing.
5.
Viking crystal Owl figure with label.
6.
Unknown manufacturer (possibly Mikasa) chip and dip (heavy crystal).
7.
Viking amber Alligator ashtray #6948, introduced in 1969, pictured in House & Garden magazine’s September 1969 issue, and not in the 1970 catalog.
8.
Imperial boudoir set—the rectangular glass tray was manufactured in 1944/1945 by IW Rice and hand-painted at Imperial.  This rare tray was given to Helen Clark, a clerk at Imperial, who passed it on to Myrna Garrison (noted author of several books on Imperial Glass) at the 2006 Imperial Glass convention.   Ms. Garrison gave this tray to a club member (who is an avid Imperial boudoir item collector) as a birthday present to go with the powder box and two perfumes she already had.

On the left is an Imperial crystal #282 spooner.
On the right is an unknown manufacturer clear spooner.
10.
Westmoreland Glass crystal Pattern 1023 candlesticks with different etchings.
11.
Westmoreland Glass milk glass lamp, circa 1905, with floral decoration.
12.
Westmoreland Glass #219 Concave Fluted vases, one in amethyst carnival and the other in marigold carnival.
13.
Two glass bead necklaces; the longer is from the late 1940s and the other has the Swarovski Crystal swan tag.
14.
Hall China large Acacia pitcher with lid, circa 1940.
15.
Imperial Glass crystal Candlewick #400/228 14” chip and dip.
16.
Imperial Glass Black Suede covered humidor with crossed pipes decoration.
17.
Paden City Crows Foot tall ruby vase from the 890 line.
18.
Morgantown ruby Peekaboo candlelight #1207 (Bo-Peep).
19.
Fostoria white opalescent Heirloom Flora candleholder, made between 1959 and 1970.
